What is Relational Data Model?
Definition
A relational data model structures product information in interconnected tables with defined relationships. This helps organise attributes, families, variants, and metadata efficiently within PIM. It enables efficient querying, validation, and large-scale data management.
Relational models use keys and constraints to connect records consistently. For example, an autonomous product data operation could take products and supplier references stored in related tables, validate their keys and required relationships, and prevent records from pointing to nonexistent suppliers.
