What is Navigation Order?
Definition
Navigation order refers to the prioritised sequence of attributes used in product filtering and faceted search on eCommerce sites. In PIM, it helps structure how customers browse categories by emphasising the most relevant product characteristics. A well-planned navigation order improves product discoverability and conversion.
Navigation order affects how people encounter categories, not the underlying identity of products. For example, an autonomous product data operation could take approved lighting categories for a storefront menu, apply the agreed category sequence and visibility rules, and prepare a navigable assortment without changing product identifiers.
