What is Composable Commerce?

Definition

Composable Commerce is an approach where businesses choose best-of-breed, modular components—such as PIM, DAM, CMS, OMS, and Search, to build a customised digital ecosystem. It offers high flexibility, easy integration, and the ability to innovate quickly. PIM plays a crucial role by supplying consistent product data to all components.

Composable commerce separates capabilities that communicate through defined interfaces. For example, an autonomous product data operation could take approved product information for a modular storefront, deliver content to the selected commerce service through its interface, and keep product updates independent of checkout changes.
