Data Integration
Every supplier sends data differently. Your catalog only accepts it one way.
Supplier files land in staging, not in production. Autonera detects the format, classifies and maps the content, normalizes units and returns specific exceptions to the supplier.
How it works
Walk a supplier file through intake
Choose a supplier delivery and step through classification, mapping, normalization and review. Map unrecognized categories to accept the rows.

The capability
Controlled acceptance for heterogeneous supplier content
A distributor with hundreds of suppliers receives product data in as many shapes: price-list spreadsheets with merged headers, XML exports from a manufacturer's PIM, JSON feeds, and CSV files with lengths written as 3/4", 19mm or approx 1in. Loading these directly into the product master spreads inconsistent data across every downstream channel.
Supplier Data Ingestion places every delivery in an intake staging area. Autonera detects the format, recognizes the supplier's structure, classifies rows into your taxonomy, applies the supplier's mapping profile and normalizes values such as units, booleans and code lists. Each row is then validated against your acceptance rules.
Accepted rows proceed. Rows with exceptions remain in staging with a specific reason the supplier or a category manager can act on: an unmapped category, a missing part number or an unreadable measurement. Repeat submissions reuse the stored mapping, so the second file from a supplier needs far less attention than the first.
This page covers the intake pipeline itself. The Supplier Onboarding Portal covers the supplier-facing workspace for submitting and correcting data.
Problems it solves
Where this work usually breaks down
Manual reformatting before every load
Category managers rebuild supplier spreadsheets into an import template by hand.
Units that mean nothing downstream
Lengths and weights arrive in mixed formats and break filters, comparisons and freight calculations.
Bad rows mixed with good ones
One faulty row blocks a whole file, or worse, loads alongside the rest.
Vague feedback to suppliers
Suppliers are told the file is wrong without being told which row or why.
Functional capabilities
What Supplier Data Ingestion includes
- Multi-format intake
- Accept spreadsheets, delimited files, XML and JSON through upload, file transfer or API.
- Intake staging
- Hold every delivery separately from the product master until it passes acceptance.
- Classification
- Assign incoming rows to your categories using supplier codes, names and attributes.
- Supplier mapping profiles
- Store per-supplier mappings that are reused on repeat submissions.
- Normalization
- Convert units, fractions, booleans and code values to your governed formats.
- Row-level exception feedback
- Return precise reasons per row, and accept the valid remainder of a file.
In industrial operations
A fluid-power distributor onboards a quarterly supplier catalog
A supplier sends a 4,000-row spreadsheet with its own categories and lengths in inches, fractions and millimetres.
- The file is detected as a spreadsheet and placed in staging under the supplier's profile.
- Rows are classified into the distributor's valve and fitting categories using the stored mapping.
- Lengths are normalized to millimetres; values such as "approx 2in" are flagged rather than guessed.
- Accepted rows move to enrichment; exceptions are returned with row-level reasons.
Result: Usable rows progress immediately and the supplier receives a correction list instead of a rejected file.
Autonomous operations
How autonomous execution changes supplier data ingestion
Agents perform the intake work on every delivery, and people decide the mappings and acceptance rules that agents apply.
Agents carry out
- Detect formats and supplier structures
- Propose mappings for new supplier categories
- Normalize units and code values
- Draft exception notices for suppliers
People decide
- Approve new mapping profiles
- Set acceptance thresholds per supplier
- Decide on ambiguous values
Evidence recorded
- Original file retained with each staged row
- Mapping profile version used
- Exception reasons and resubmission history

Buyer FAQs
Questions evaluators ask
Which file formats can suppliers send?
Spreadsheets, delimited text, XML and JSON. PDF catalogs require document extraction, which is scoped separately.
Does one bad row reject the whole file?
No. Acceptance is row-level. Valid rows can proceed while exceptions stay in staging.
How are new supplier formats handled?
Autonera proposes a mapping profile from the file's structure and values; a category manager approves it before use.
Is this the same as the Supplier Onboarding Portal?
No. Ingestion is the intake pipeline. The portal is the supplier-facing workspace that can feed it.
Can ingestion use our industry standards?
Yes. Mappings can target standards-based classes and features where you use them.
