Data Governance
Follow any value from where it came from to where it went.
Autonera records the source, transformations, human and agent changes, approvals and deliveries behind each value, so you can answer who changed it, why and what was published.
The capability
Field-level provenance across the whole data path
When a customer disputes a published weight, or an auditor asks how a hazardous classification was set, the answer usually spans several systems: a supplier file, an ERP update, a conversion, an approval and a feed to a channel. Change logs in each system cover only their own part.
Data Lineage & Audit keeps the full path at field level. Each value records its source, the transformation that produced it, who or which agent changed it, the approval under which it was accepted and the destinations it was delivered to. Snapshots allow investigators to see what the governed value was at a given time.
Gaps are visible too. If a value reached a destination without a recorded approval where policy requires one, the lineage shows the missing stage. That makes audit a matter of reading a record rather than reconstructing events.
Problems it solves
Where this work usually breaks down
Disputes nobody can settle
A partner shows a value you do not recognize and there is no record of what was sent.
Agent changes without accountability
Automated corrections are applied without recording what changed and why.
Audits rebuilt by hand
Teams assemble logs from several systems to answer one question.
Hidden bypasses
Values reach channels without the approval policy requires, and nobody notices.
Functional capabilities
What Data Lineage & Audit includes
- Field provenance
- Record the originating system, file, row or API call for each value.
- Transformation history
- Capture conversions, mappings and derivations with their inputs.
- Human and agent activity
- Attribute every change to a person or a named agent and policy.
- Approval linkage
- Link accepted values to the approval that authorized them.
- Destination tracking
- Record which deliveries carried a value and their acknowledgements.
- Point-in-time investigation
- View the governed value and its lineage as of any time.
How it works
Trace a value end to end
Select an attribute to see its path from source to destination. Move the time slider to investigate the governed value at an earlier point. The description shows a missing approval stage.

In industrial operations
A pump manufacturer answers a freight dispute
A dealer's freight quote used a weight that differs from the shipped unit.
- The product steward opens the lineage for gross weight on the affected model.
- The trail shows the supplier value, its conversion, the ERP re-weigh and the approval that adopted it.
- The delivery record confirms which feed version carried the corrected weight and when the dealer acknowledged it.
- The investigation is exported and attached to the dispute.
Result: The question is answered from a record, with the source, decision and delivery identified.
Autonomous operations
How autonomous execution changes data lineage & audit
Autonomous operation makes lineage essential: every agent action is recorded with the policy it acted under, alongside human decisions.
Agents carry out
- Record inputs and outputs of every action
- Reference the policy and mission behind changes
- Flag deliveries missing required approvals
- Assemble investigation trails on request
People decide
- Define which changes require approval
- Review flagged gaps
- Own audit responses
Evidence recorded
- Field-level history
- Approval references
- Delivery and acknowledgement records

Buyer FAQs
Questions evaluators ask
Is lineage recorded for every attribute?
Lineage is captured at field level for governed attributes. Scope and retention are configurable.
Are agent changes distinguishable from human ones?
Yes. Each change identifies the person or agent and, for agents, the policy or mission it acted under.
Can we see what was true at a past date?
Yes. Point-in-time views show the governed value and its history as of a chosen time.
Does lineage include downstream destinations?
Yes. Deliveries and acknowledgements are linked to the values they carried.
How long is history retained?
Retention is configured to your policy; discuss regulatory requirements with us during evaluation.
