What is Transactional Data?
Definition
Operational data generated during business interactions, such as orders, invoices, returns, or shipments. While not typically mastered in PIM, it helps enrich analytics and improve product lifecycle insights. Linking transactional data with PIM enhances decision-making for assortments, pricing, and customer experience.
Transactions describe events involving products rather than the products' durable master attributes. For example, an autonomous product data operation could take authorized order-line activity for lighting SKUs, link events to product identities for operational prioritization, and keep transaction history separate from the product master.
