Master Data Management
Corporate structures you can roll up, restructure and trust
Represent how customers, suppliers and locations relate through multiple hierarchy views, with rollups and integrity checks on every change.
How it works
Switch views and restructure a customer group
Toggle between legal-entity and sales-territory views of the same plants. Move a node and see rollups update, or attempt a move that would create a cycle.

RESTRUCTURE
The capability
Many hierarchies over the same entities
A customer group is a legal structure for credit, a territory structure for sales and a site structure for service. Forcing all of these into one tree means someone always has the wrong view. Autonera keeps one master record per entity and lets it participate in several hierarchy views at once.
Each view has its own parent relationships, rules and owners. Rollups such as spend, open orders or number of sites are calculated per view. Restructuring checks for cycles, orphaned nodes and conflicting rules before any change is committed, and the impact on downstream systems is shown in advance.
This capability addresses organizational master data for customers, suppliers and locations. Product merchandising taxonomies are covered separately by Product Hierarchies & Taxonomy.
Problems it solves
Where this work usually breaks down
One tree for every purpose
Credit, sales and service teams compete over the same structure.
Rollups calculated in spreadsheets
Group-level spend and exposure are assembled manually and differ by report.
Unsafe restructures
Moving a subsidiary creates cycles or orphans that break downstream systems.
Acquisitions handled late
New legal entities are added without being connected to the group.
Functional capabilities
What Master Data Hierarchies & Relationships includes
- Multiple hierarchy views
- Model legal, sales, purchasing and service hierarchies over the same master records.
- Cross-entity relationships
- Relate customers to sites, suppliers to manufacturers and locations to legal entities.
- Rollups
- Aggregate measures such as spend or site count through each view.
- Integrity checks
- Prevent cycles, orphans and parent types that violate view rules.
- Restructuring impact
- Preview which records, rollups and systems change before committing a move.
- View ownership
- Assign owners and approval rules to each hierarchy view.
In industrial operations
A distributor serves a multinational manufacturing group
Credit used the legal structure, sales used territories and service used plant addresses, each in a different system with conflicting parents.
- Plants and entities are consolidated as master records.
- Legal and sales views are modeled separately.
- An acquired European plant is added and connected in both views.
- Rollups feed credit and account planning.
Result: Each team works from its own view of the same governed entities.
Autonomous operations
How autonomous execution changes master data hierarchies & relationships
Agents propose hierarchy placements for new or changed entities and check restructures before stewards approve them.
Agents carry out
- Suggest parents from registry and address data
- Detect orphaned and cyclic structures
- Calculate restructuring impact
- Notify downstream system owners
People decide
- Approve restructures
- Own each hierarchy view
- Resolve conflicting parent evidence
Evidence recorded
- Before and after structure
- Integrity checks run
- Approver per change

Buyer FAQs
Questions evaluators ask
How is this different from product hierarchies?
Product hierarchies organize products for merchandising and classification. Master data hierarchies represent relationships between organizations, sites and parties.
Can an entity have different parents in different views?
Yes. Each view has its own parent relationships over the same master record.
Are restructures reversible?
Restructures are versioned and can be reviewed or reverted. Effective dating can schedule them for a future date.
Can external registry data inform parents?
Registry and identity data can be used as evidence when the source is available and licensed. Specific providers are confirmed during evaluation.
What prevents broken structures?
Integrity rules reject cycles, invalid parent types and orphaned nodes before changes are committed.
