Product Information Management

Change ten thousand products and know exactly what changed

Filtered selection, conditional operations and a record-level preview make large catalog updates safe enough to run on a Tuesday afternoon.

How it works

Preview a conditional update across cable management products

Narrow the scope, switch between overwrite and fill-if-empty, and watch the preview and approval requirement update before anything is applied.

Problems it solves

Where this work usually breaks down

  1. 01

    Export, edit, re-import

Spreadsheet round-trips overwrite correct values and lose concurrent edits.

  2. 02

    Scope you cannot see

A filter that matches more records than expected changes the wrong products.

  3. 03

    Unapproved mass changes

Large edits bypass the review that a single-product change would require.

  4. 04

    No way back

A mistaken update cannot be reversed without restoring a backup.

The capability

Scale without spreadsheets

Catalog teams frequently export thousands of rows to a spreadsheet, edit them and import them back. The round-trip loses context, overwrites values that were correct and leaves no record of why the change was made.

Autonera performs bulk changes in place. Users select records with saved searches or attribute filters, choose an operation such as overwrite, fill only if empty or append, and see the exact before-and-after for every affected record. Changes above a configurable size require approval, and every bulk operation is stored as one reversible change set.

Rule-based updates turn recurring bulk edits into standing rules, for example setting a hazard class whenever a battery chemistry attribute equals lithium-ion. Rules run on new and changed records and report what they touched.

Functional capabilities

What Bulk Editing & Rule-Based Updates includes

Filtered selection
Select records by category, brand, attribute values, completeness or saved search.
Conditional operations
Overwrite, fill empty values, append, clear or calculate values from other attributes.
Record-level preview
See before and after values for every affected record before committing.
Approval thresholds
Route changes above a size or sensitivity threshold for approval.
Reversible change sets
Store each bulk operation as one change set that can be inspected and undone.
Standing update rules
Apply conditional rules automatically to new and changed records.

In industrial operations

An electrical distributor normalizes UV ratings

A supplier confirmed UV stabilization across a cable tie line, but existing values were inconsistent and some records had a different, correct rating.

  1. Records are selected by category and brand.
  2. The update fills only empty values, preserving existing ratings.
  3. The preview shows 42 changes and 6 untouched records.
  4. A category manager approves the change set.

Result: Only the intended records change, and the change set is reversible and auditable.

Autonomous operations

How autonomous execution changes bulk editing & rule-based updates

Agents propose bulk corrections from detected patterns and prepare change sets that people approve.

Agents carry out

  • Detect attribute patterns that warrant a bulk fix
  • Build the selection and preview
  • Apply approved change sets
  • Re-validate affected records

People decide

  • Approve large or sensitive changes
  • Define standing update rules
  • Undo change sets when needed

Evidence recorded

  • Selection criteria
  • Before and after per record
  • Approver and timestamp

Buyer FAQs

Questions evaluators ask

How large can a bulk edit be?

Bulk operations are designed for catalog-scale changes. Specific volume and timing expectations are confirmed during evaluation.

Can a bulk change be undone?

Yes. Each operation is stored as a change set with previous values so it can be reversed.

Do bulk changes trigger validation?

Yes. Affected records are re-validated and readiness is recalculated.

Can approvals depend on the attribute?

Yes. Thresholds can be set by record count and by attribute sensitivity, such as price or regulated fields.

What is the difference between a bulk edit and a rule?

A bulk edit is a one-time change set. A rule applies the same logic continuously to new and changed records.
