Product Information Management
One product record, every language, no copies
Locale-aware attributes keep French, German and Spanish values on the same governed product, with explicit fallbacks and required-language rules.
How it works
Read one record through different locales
Switch locales to see native values versus fallbacks, then change the set of required locales to see which attributes block release.

REQUIRED LOCALES FOR RELEASE
Fallbacks help display; they never satisfy a required locale.

The capability
Language is a property of the attribute, not the product
Many catalogs handle languages by cloning products per country, which multiplies maintenance and lets technical values diverge. Autonera stores language as a dimension of each attribute. Technical values such as drive size or voltage are global; names, safety notes and marketing copy are locale-specific.
Each locale can fall back to another, so Canadian French can display European French and then US English while content is pending. Fallback is a display behaviour only: required-locale rules still report the attribute as missing until a native value exists, which keeps release decisions honest.
This page covers how multilingual data is modeled and governed. The work of producing translations, managing terminology and reviewing linguistic quality is covered by Translation & Localization.
Problems it solves
Where this work usually breaks down
Cloned products per language
A spec change made in English never reaches the French and German copies.
Silent fallback
English text appears on a French site and is counted as translated.
Technical values translated
Numeric values and codes are retyped per language and drift.
No visibility of language gaps
Teams cannot see which attributes block release in each market.
Functional capabilities
What Multilingual Product Information includes
- Locale-scoped attributes
- Mark attributes as global or locale-specific and store values per locale on one record.
- Fallback chains
- Configure ordered fallbacks for display, such as fr-CA to fr-FR to en-US.
- Required locales
- Declare which languages are mandatory per channel, catalog or market.
- Untranslated tracking
- List missing and outdated locale values whenever the source language changes.
- Locale ownership
- Assign owners per locale so regional teams maintain their own content.
- Locale-aware exports
- Deliver the correct language and fallback policy to each destination.
In industrial operations
A tool manufacturer supports Canada, Germany and Mexico
Separate product copies existed for each language, and specification changes reached some markets weeks later than others.
- Products are consolidated into one record with locale-specific attributes.
- Technical attributes are marked global.
- Fallbacks are configured for display while translation is pending.
- Market releases require native values for each mandatory locale.
Result: Every market reads the same technical data, and language gaps are visible per release.
Autonomous operations
How autonomous execution changes multilingual product information
Agents detect when source-language changes make locale values outdated and route the gaps to the right locale owner.
Agents carry out
- Flag locale values outdated by source changes
- Report missing values per required locale
- Prepare translation requests with context
- Check that global attributes were not localized
People decide
- Set required locales per market
- Own and approve regional content
- Decide fallback policy per channel
Evidence recorded
- Source change that invalidated a locale value
- Completion per locale over time
- Locale owner approvals

Buyer FAQs
Questions evaluators ask
How is this different from Translation & Localization?
This capability models and governs language-specific data. Translation & Localization covers producing, reviewing and approving translated content.
Does fallback count as complete?
No. Fallback controls what is displayed while a value is missing. Required-locale completeness only counts native values.
Can numeric attributes vary by locale?
Values stay global, and units or formatting can be converted at output. Truly market-specific values can be modeled as locale or location attributes.
How many locales are supported?
Locales are configuration. The specific locales and scripts required are confirmed during evaluation.
Who maintains each language?
Locale ownership assigns regional teams or translators to the values they are responsible for.
